Autumn Winetasting Season
Organic vs Conventional Wines 6.45 – 8pm Monday 20th September
Organic wine producers will tell you that their wines taste better than others. Organic wines are produced without pesticides, herbicides or other synthetic chemicals. This reduces the negative impact of the wine-growing on the environment and helps promote biodiversity. They will say that chemicals can damage the grapes and end up in the wine as residues. The grapes of organic wines are often handpicked thus ensuring only the ripest bunches are used in the wine, and arguably they have more natural resistance to bad weather or pestilence.
But does organic wine really taste better? Let's find out together. After an introductory glass of Prosecco, there will be three rounds where you will be asked to deduce the grape variety and provenance of each wine. Throughout, you will be guided in how to taste wine with a prize of a Magnum of Prosecco for the best performer! Come along and put your wine tasting skills to the test.
Stay for dinner and savour a menu especially chosen to show off these wines.
